How to write a book review?

So I am a first-year university student and I have never written a book review. My teacher is almost impossible to get ahold of for some odd reason and I really don't know where or how to begin. He said that we can just use any book we have read in the past year but I really don't read all that much. Do you have suggestions on a quick read that would work great for a book review?
