How to write a good introduction essay?

I am so bad at writing introduction essays and I need to finish up my first essay of the semester here really soon. I tried to write one in my draft but my teacher basically said it was awful and to rewrite it. I really have no idea what I am doing or how to write an introduction paragraph so any information or tips would be great.
